The use of the profection chart is quite advanced. However, if you feel like something specific keeps on happening to you in your life, and you may realise that it keeps occurring every 12 years, it could be helpful to your spiritual development.
Doing so may help you sort of reverse engineer some insight into your own astrological chart based purely on your own experience and insight. I mention this because I noticed something bad kept happening in the years that happened to be my 8th house profection, which is very telling. This is specifically for me though due to my 8th house placements. So I am not saying that will be the same profection years for everyone regarding bad luck. I am saying that those years that stuck out to you as being the years you would time travel to to try and try and fix some regrets, Back to the future style, I would look into those ages on the Profection Chart as seen above to see if there was a pattern and any specific houses you might want to look into the meaning of and what planets and aspects are in that house for you.
This year my profection happens to be the same house as this year's north node transit, 11H/Aquarius. So that makes the cross-referencing much easier when that happens. However, if your profection year house is different from the north node transit and you would like to make your own analysis, then look at what the sign and the house is for both North Node and Profection and then what the ruling planets of them are doing in your natal chart.
