Seeing through the lens of the Hegel Master/Slave Dialectic.
There are many examples of the Hegelian Death Struggle within our culture, (Hegel 1807). Hegel speaks of inter-subjectivity and more frequently discusses the Death Struggle as a more frequent outcome and also acknowledges peace and harmoniousness as also possible and occurring, however less frequent. The Death struggle from how I understand it is the struggle to have one's own independence recognised, which is a paradox. To actually be truly independent, there would be no need to have it recognised by an external force.

Where they say that the slave does not need their master to recognise their independence. The master is dependant on the slave to recognise their own independence. That is a paradox. When the slave recognises the dependence is one way, they are free.
Let's take a look at this within the framework of class struggle. There is a narcissistic strategic tactic that tries to create a dependence on them so they can harvest energy, called loosh. Lulling the masses into thinking that they need them by playing groups of disenfranchised people against each other as a diversion tactic to distract from them noticing that they are all being exploited. We can see this in communities where their hostility is manufactured towards each other. A sideways hostility rather than upwards hostility, (Bonacich, 1972). Attempting to have their independence recognised by an external force and that need directed towards the other due to forced proximity and the fight over the scraps of resources respective governments are willing to part with.
The following video is about the prevailing decisiveness within cultures in an attempt to distract the masses from what we are all collectively losing. The "parental unit" being the powers that be, pitting their "children" against each other for the financial translation of the aforementioned loosh, which is under this capitalist system is money. The thing that people exchange for time and energy.

My own personal experience in my immediate life has been relatable to this dynamic in a couple of different ways. I experience induced nausea from an early age, almost daily for 6 important developmental years of my life. To have resources placed inside me, only to have them pulled out of me by the same route through methods of torture, reminds me of wage slavery.
As a person of colour in Australia, I have experienced a significant amount of this sideways hostility as aforementioned. For most of my early life this confused me because I thought it was about my Australian-ness that was being called into question. Which did not make sense to me since that is the country that I was born in. So when I learnt about sideways hostility, looking back on my experience in lower class neighborhoods as an adult suddenly made sense, since I grew up in middle class and upper middle class neighborhoods it was only until I was out of uni and struggling to free myself from MSBP, that I had these experiences. This detachment and unfamiliarity to my own experience is what made it visible to me. I might not have been able to see it if I had grown up around it. In sideways hostility, people are being exploited by their Maslow needs and are being deliberately being pit against each other.
My own family linage had been disenfranchised from their own origins by the British India Company in 1890 by sending them to one of their other colonies at the time as indentured labourers. As if that wasn't enough, they also changed their names, making it difficult for us to look back to our origins if we wanted to. I now find myself orphaned in a hostile land with people asking me where I'm from and when am I going back. While at the same time as experiencing the split labour market first hand, even though I am not an immigrant. Whilst being pathologised for my trauma response and thrown into ESL class even though I was born there. Not only was my developmental trauma symptoms dismissed as cultural or racial difference, I had to navigate this alone. So it's no wonder that it took me 40 years to remember the betrayals. They tried to make me forget through memory resets, distraction, obfuscation and withholding.
This reminds me of a specific person in power currently who had used social media to stir up a storm of distraction and divisiveness. This was how the abuse got passed down in my family, through divisiveness. Apparently it is a trait of NPD, (narcissistic personality disorder). Once they have your attention and focus, they can use that to distract, obfuscate and withhold, much like what is happening currently with the Epstein Files. It is important not to let anyone control your focus and attention. It should always be your decision what you focus on and pay attention to. My family tried to rage bait me constantly to try and get me into trouble and sometimes it worked. Becoming aware of this for me has allowed me to take back power over my own energy and where I put it to.
